About

Benjamin Imhoff is an architect committed to serving the public good through excellent and transformative design. Ben sees architecture as a driving force in society, and seeks to use it to shape the 21st century world into a more habitable, sustainable and empathic place. Bringing passion, intellectual rigor, and high professional standards to every project, Ben sees all projects — regardless of size, scope or budget — as opportunities to elevate context and mold experience.
For Ben, it is imperative to approach the design of buildings with important questions in mind of how people’s senses of belonging, personal agency and civic engagement will be inflected by the building being developed. Buildings affect our collective impression of the world in profound ways, and it is the responsibility of architects to remain sensitive to this fact during the design process.
Ben has brought this inquisitive, process-based methodology to the table for his entire career, but especially over the past seven years in his role as a Project Architect at Donovan Architects in Camden County, New Jersey. As they’re a relatively small office with a workload varied in both size and scope, Ben has been able to apply his process to many different project types — including those operating on demanding constraints of budget, size and schedule. Examples include the Cooper Grant Community Proposal and the Parkside New Homes Project, both in Camden, NJ, and the Evesham Family Apartments in Marlton, NJ. He stays present throughout all phases, and has become fluent in each part of the delivery process from pre-design to construction.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University, is licensed to practice architecture in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is an AIA member.
